Delhi to Goa route
NH 48 via Jaipur, Udaipur, Ahmedabad and Vadodara, then down the west coast or via Pune and Kolhapur. A typical plan:
- Delhi / Gurugram: meet at dawn
- Jaipur
- Udaipur
- Ahmedabad and Vadodara
- Mumbai region or Pune
- Konkan coast or Kolhapur and Amboli, then Vagator
Central alternative: via Agra, Gwalior and Indore, then south to Pune and Kolhapur.
Route tips
- Two-wheelers are generally barred from access-controlled expressways under a 2018 NHAI notification. Plan the route on national highways like NH 48, not the new expressway corridors, and follow the signboards.
- Plan the days backwards from 27 Nov, with a spare day for breakdowns or weather.
- Some riders send the bike ahead by rail parcel or a bike transport service and ride only the last stretch, or join a convoy from Mumbai or Pune.
Distances and times are approximate and depend on your start point and route; check current road and weather conditions before you ride. Route sources: National Highway 48 (Wikipedia) · Bar & Bench: two-wheelers and access-controlled expressways.
Riding as a convoy
- Sub-groups: 5–7 riders each, with their own lead and sweep, and one overall ride captain.
- Regroup points: agree them before the ride (fuel stops, after tolls, the foot of each ghat), never on the shoulder.
- Ghats in daylight: time the descent into Goa so the last ghat is done before dark.
- One person on money: log fuel, tolls and stays as you go, and settle up over UPI in Goa.
What to carry
- Driving licence, bike RC, insurance and PUC, plus a government ID (and copies)
- Full gear: full-face helmet, riding jacket, gloves, boots
- Puncture kit and inflator, chain lube, basic tools (one set per sub-group is enough)
- Phone mount and charger or power bank, some cash as well as UPI
- Your Motoverse pass: check the official Royal Enfield Motoverse page for passes
