Hyderabad to Goa route
Southwest via Mahabubnagar, Raichur and Hubballi–Dharwad, or west via Solapur and Kolhapur. A typical plan:
- Hyderabad: early meet on the side of town you are leaving from
- Mahabubnagar
- Raichur
- Hubballi–Dharwad (overnight)
- Western Ghats descent into Goa (Anmod, or Belagavi and Chorla)
- Vagator, North Goa
Western route: Hyderabad → Sangareddy → Zaheerabad → Solapur → Kolhapur → Amboli ghat → Goa.
Route tips
- The southern route via Raichur is usually the shorter one; the western route via Solapur and Kolhapur runs on bigger highways. Pick one for the whole convoy and share it before the ride.
- Long straights on the Deccan plateau: plan fuel and water stops every 100–150 km and regroup at each one.
- Time Day 2 so the ghat into Goa is done in daylight.
Distances and times are approximate and depend on your start point and route; check current road and weather conditions before you ride. Route sources: National Highway 48 (Wikipedia).
Riding as a convoy
- Sub-groups: 5–7 riders each, with their own lead and sweep, and one overall ride captain.
- Regroup points: agree them before the ride (fuel stops, after tolls, the foot of each ghat), never on the shoulder.
- Ghats in daylight: time the descent into Goa so the last ghat is done before dark.
- One person on money: log fuel, tolls and stays as you go, and settle up over UPI in Goa.
What to carry
- Driving licence, bike RC, insurance and PUC, plus a government ID (and copies)
- Full gear: full-face helmet, riding jacket, gloves, boots
- Puncture kit and inflator, chain lube, basic tools (one set per sub-group is enough)
- Phone mount and charger or power bank, some cash as well as UPI
- Your Motoverse pass: check the official Royal Enfield Motoverse page for passes
